North Yorkshire rapeseed oil business uses social media to launch new products

Undeterred by the cancellation of the Country Living Spring Show that was due to take place in London recently, the team at a Thixendale rapeseed oil business forged ahead with plans to launch their new products on a virtual social media platform instead of at Alexandra Palace.

Charlie & Ivy's are long standing supporters of the Country Living Events that are attended by food and craft lovers nationwide and had chosen what would have been the 29thyear of the popular event to launch their new summer inspired bread dippers and mayonnaise. With the show cancelled, Country Living launched their first ever virtual event via their Instagram platform. The Yorkshire brand decided to launch their Blackberry, Thyme and Balsamic and White Balsamic, Tarragon and White Pepper Bread Dippers and their Chilli and Lime Mayonnaise via the Virtual Event.

The new dippers and mayonnaise were developed by Jason Thompson: "New Product Development is a long process from concept to finished product and we didn't want the team's hard work to go to waste, so we decided to do a virtual launch on social media.

"It was a great success, with many of our stockists and food festival fans commenting on our Instagram stories."

All of the new products are based on award winning extra virgin rapeseed oil from seed that it grown on Yorkshire Wolds farms and is pressed, bottled and labelled by hand on the Palmer family farm.

As well as a tasty dipper, Blackberry, Thyme and Balsamic Bread Dipper is greatdrizzled over salads, pastas or pizza and delicious with duck, game or goat's cheese.

White Balsamic, Tarragon and White Pepper Bread Dipper is designed for dipping but is alsoexcellent stirred through risotto and complements chicken and fish. Both bread dippers cost £6.00 for 500ml.

The Chilli and Lime Mayonnaise is perfect teamed with burgers and tacos and makes a tasty salsa. It costs £3.50 for 190g.

The team has also launched a Happy Birthday Gift Box and a ‘Just to Say' all occasion Gift Box for people to choose their own selection of products plus a choice of three Plewsy gift cards that can be hand written with your personal message.
