The Diverse Book Awards!

Publishers and authors are invited to submit their nominations for The Diverse Book Awardswww.thediversebookawards.co.ukbefore the closing date of 31stMay 2020.

 

It's free to enter and really quick to fill out the entry form.

There are three categories: YA, Children, Adult - fiction only please.

 

Key dates:

The long-list will be announced in July, the short-list in September and subject to the evolving pandemic situation, there are plans to host a party in London to celebrate the winners in October.

 

About the awards:

The awards are open to UK-based/British authors (self-published through to traditionally published) and publishers who released a book at any point in 2019 that features BAME and/or inclusive main characters. The aim is to celebrate and shine a spotlight on the amazing diverse books that are being released in this country!

 

Founded by award-winning entrepreneur Helen Lewis (https://www.linkedin.com/in/helen-lewis-498bb118/) and Carnegie-nominated author Abiola Bello (https://www.a-bello.com/), this is the first year of the Awards!

 

Sponsored in its inaugural year by Hashtag BLAK, Literally PR and pen&inc, the hope is that The Diverse Book Awards resonates with the UK publishing industry and that everyone makes some time to submit an entry or two...! Publishers can submit up to 5 titles, authors up to 2.
