Howards Expands Leadership Team After Record Year

Stafford-based Howards Chartered Certified Accountants has announced the appointment of a new senior manager to its leadership team after achieving 10 per cent annual growth.

Darren Roberts, 48, joins as senior managercovering areas of auditing, accounting and tax and brings 30 years' experience to the business. He is about to complete his ACCA practising certificate and audit qualificationand will then become a director designate. With all teams reporting to him, Darren will take a strategic lead in the business reporting directly to managing director Matt Bailey.

"This is a key appointment for the firm, helping us to capitalise on serving our core business of small to medium-sized businesses in Stafford and the surrounding areas," says Matt. "I'm delighted to bring on board such a high-quality professional with a wealth of valuable experience."

To meet growing demand for specialist HR/employment support, Howards has teamed up with Nicola Quinlan of Quinlans Solicitors, one of its strategic professional partners. Quinlans Solicitors can provide businesses with a cost-effective HR/employment resource for all their employment and HR matters.

After a series of recent recruits, the firm now employs 45 staff.

Darren, who lives in Stoke-on-Trent, will continue to spearhead to the growth of value-added services focussed on business advice and consultancy.

Howards was founded 15 years ago following the merger of Barrington's and Wood & Co. It has capitalised on a multi-disciplinary offering to become one of Staffordshire's largest independent accountancy and business consultancy practices.
