Bradford Garden Centre to host BBQ cookery class

A Bradford garden centre is hosting BBQ cookery classes with one of the world's leading providers of barbecues.

On 21st May, Tong Garden Centre is teaming up with Weber to host two hands-on three course BBQ meal cookery classes.

Tong's Leisure Manager and keen barbecue cook, John Bamforth said: "Certified by Weber, this interactive BBQ course is the perfect way to learn how to cook a more ambitious menu of dishes on your Weber and learn new skills and techniques for expert barbecuing.

"Whether you join us for the afternoon session to cook the ‘World Menu' or attend the evening class to cook a ‘Smoked Menu', you and your classmates will prepare and cook a three course meal under the guidance of an expert Weber chef then enjoy the delicious dishes you've made.
 

"In addition, you'll gain ‘Master Griller' status and receive a Weber apron, recipe booklet and certificate to take home."

Grillers in the World Menu class will learn how to cook Cedar Plank Trout, Stuffed Pork Tenderloin, Corn on the Cob, Curried Cauliflower, Reverse Sear Steak and Grilled Peach Sundaes whilst the Smoked Menu group will create Smoked Watermelon, Sweet Potato Fries, Vegan Burgers with Smoked BBQ Sauce, Maple Mustard Glazed Onions, Roasted Cote de Boeuf and Guinness and Chocolate Cake. The menus will be cooked using a range of barbecues and fuel types including gas, charcoal, smoker and Weber's new Pellet Grill, SmokeFire.

The World Menu BBQ class will take place between 1pm and 3pm and the Smoked Menu class from 5pm to 7pm on 21st May in the event space at the Tong Lane centre. Tickets are limited to 20 per class and are on sale online and from reception at Tong for £45 per person.

Tong Garden Centre occupies a 17 acre site in Tong village. It is one of Yorkshire's biggest garden centres with 110,000 square feet of retail space and parking for up to 1,000 cars.
