North Yorkshire business raises £2700 for disadvantaged children

The team at a Thixendale rapeseed oilbusiness has raised £2700 for a Hull based charity that provides sensory rooms and the support of a therapy dog for disadvantaged children.

Throughout 2019, the team at Yorkshire Rapeseed Oil raised the money for the Life for a Lid Foundation through sales of a limited edition Blue Cheese Dressing and a beer festival that was sponsored by local businesses.

Of the fundraising, Yorkshire Rapeseed Oil's co-founder, Adam Palmer said: "We asked our social media followersfor suggestions for charities to support in 2019 and were overwhelmed with the volume of responses. We then polled the top three suggestions, again using social media, and were delighted that Life for a Kid Foundation was the clear winner.

"We have really enjoyed working with its Ambassador, David Freer and therapy dog, Lewis to raise valuable funds for this amazing charity and would like to thank everyone who has made it possible to raise such a large amount of money."

A delighted Mr Freer said: "Life for a Kid Foundationsupports disadvantaged children under the age of 16 living in the Hull and East-Riding area in different ways, including the use of therapy dog, Lewis tobring comfort to sick children and those with learning disabilities.

"We rely on the generosity of businesses like Yorkshire Rapeseed Oil to support the services that we offer and we're incredibly grateful for this large donation."

The Foundation was set up in 2010 and has helped hundreds of children and their families in this time. Lewis the Therapy Dog joined the team in 2017.

Yorkshire Rapeseed Oil was established in 2008 by Adam and Jennie Palmer on their farm in the heart of the Yorkshire Wolds. They now produce a range ofoils, dressings and mayonnaisebased on their award-winning rapeseed oil that is produced exclusively from home.
