AJEX Appoints New Chief Executive

AJEX JMA is delighted to announce the appointment of Fiona Palmer as its new Chief Executive. Fiona has taken over the reins from Major Danny Yank who has moved on to pastures new.

AJEX Chairman, Mike Bluestone, said: "I am confident that Fiona will prove to be a dynamic and innovative ‘Chief of Staff' and will make her mark in taking AJEX JMA forward as we strive to implement our strategic goals and operational objectives."

Commenting on her appointment, Fiona Palmer said: "I am delighted to be appointed as Chief Executive of AJEX JMA and to have the opportunity to help lead the organisation forward. AJEX is a unique organisation with an amazing history and an important job to do. The three pillars of our work, remembrance, welfare and education are essential if we are to collectively remember and honour the memory of all those who have served as well as those who continue to do so."

With a background in Public Affairs and Communications, Fiona brings a wealth of experience to her role which she says she plans to put to good use.

She continued: "Quite rightly, the name of AJEX is well known and respected throughout the Jewish community. However, what I've found is that we are doing such a wide range of incredible work that many people aren't aware of. I'm very keen for people to hear all about this, especially as we hand the baton of remembrance on to future generations."

Editor's notes:

AJEX JMA was established after the Great War. It exists to remember and support the contribution of those members of the UK Jewish community who have served and continue to serve Her Majesty's Armed Forces. The Charity is organised across three pillars: Welfare, Remembrance and Education. Much of our education work is focused on ensuring the next generation are taught about the Jewish contribution to the society around us.
