Spirit of Yorkshire's Whisky Director, Joe Clark will be leading the tasting and said: "Filey Bay started life as barley growing in the fields at our farm on the top of theYorkshire Wolds back in 2015. The barley was transformed into spirit in 2016, and afterthree and half years maturing, it is now yours to enjoy at this unique event.

"In addition to a sensational  three course dinner in beautiful surroundings, you will be tasting some one-off and special cask samples that offer a unique and unrepeatable glimpse into our warehouse as our spirit edges ever closer to our Flagship single malt whisky."

Middlethorpe Hall is a William III country house set in 20 acres of gardens and parkland, yet just two miles from York's city centre. Built in 1699, it was once the home of the famous diarist, Lady Mary Wortley Montagu, and today it is renowned for its excellent food, luxurious accommodation and boutique Spa.

In September 2008 Middlethorpe Hall was one of three Historic House Hotels that were given to the National Trust to ensure their long term protection.

Spirit of Yorkshire was launched in 2016 and is a collaboration between farmer and brewer, Tom Mellor from Wold Top Brewery and business partner, David Thompson. The pair have invested significantly to follow their dream of creating a Yorkshire whisky that doesn't simply replicate Scotch. The distillery is a true grain to glass business and boasts some of the most impressive distilling equipment in the country, includingtwo of the largest Forsyth pot stills operating in the UK outside of Scotland.
