SHUFL EXPANDS TEAM TO FULFIL INCREASE IN ON-TRADE DEMAND

SHUFL, the number one UK brand of shuffleboard for the on-trade, has appointed a new commercial manager and a business development executive for the northern territory to help fulfil the increase in demand from on-trade retailers offering competitive socialising and out-of-home experiences.

Ben Minter has joined SHUFL as commercial manager, following former UK CEO Dafydd Evans' move to launch the brand in Australia.  Ben will head up the UK team of six.

He brings a strong sales background to his new role, having worked across both the on-trade and food service sectors, with significant experience in bringing new products to market.  Previously, channel controller at Royal Unibrew, where he established the UK on-trade business, he also formerly managed the national account team and Marks & Spencer business at Matthew Algie & Co.

Chris Thomson has been appointed New Business Development Executive for the northern territory.  Previously, a business manager at Bidfood, he brings six years of sales and business development experience, which included several roles at Carlsberg.  Chris will support SHUFL Business Development Manager Ryan Hurley.

It has been a year of significant growth for the SHUFL brand in the UK with Les Scott joining the team earlier this year as a full-time technician, installing the company's market-leading shuffleboards.  A joiner by trade, he is an expert in balancing the tables to optimise the SHUFL curve.

Joey Bartram and Alex Morelli have also recently joined the team as part-time brand ambassadors in the SHUFL puck squad, working with partner venues to deliver staff training, host shuffleboard tournaments and build player communities.

Says SHUFL European marketing manager, Sam Catford, "We're experiencing rapid growth, as on-trade retailers recognise the competitive edge delivered by a SHUFL table. Our trademarked, precision-engineered curve is unique to our tables. It delivers enhanced game play and a fun, memorable experience that satisfies the next-generation appetite for competitive socialising and increases the retailer's revenue.

"With these new appointments, the team is now in a position to capitalise on the increased demand as the business goes from strength-to-strength."

SHUFL now has more than 110 tables in pubs and bars nationwide and supply agreements with a number of major pub cos and retailers including BrewDog, Greene King, Stonegate, Roxy Leisure, Arc Inspirations and Fullers.  To date in 2019, the company has grown the number of tables in the UK market by 60% and is fast becoming the go-to brand across Europe, as well as establishing a presence in Australia.
