BDA strengthens position in Europe
with
Nightexpress acquisition
Specialist time critical
logistics provider BDA (Bespoke Distribution Aviation) has strengthened its
position in Europe with the acquisition of both NightExpress GmbH and N.E.
NightExpress Limited.
The acquisition enables
BDA to further extend its infrastructure and service propositions to provide
customers with unrivalled Air and Road supply chain solutions and delivery
services from mainland Europe into the UK and Ireland.
BDA has worked with
NightExpress since starting operations in 2007, combining the country-specific
expertise of NightExpress with BDA’s own dedicated air-bridges and road line
haul routes to establish service supply chain gateway offerings from Germany,
the Benelux and France to the UK and Ireland. It comes at a time when the
international logistics market is evolving. The most recent European
Distribution and Warehousing report from Transport Intelligence predicts that
logistics providers will move main distribution hubs to key centres across
Europe to take advantage of better locations for both production and
distribution. With this acquisition, BDA is helping to lead that trend.
Steve Court, Sales and
Marketing Director at BDA said: “This acquisition is a logical progression
within our business model that continues to strengthen our infrastructure and
service propositions for the benefit of all our customers. It is important that
we provide all our customers with local management and logistical expertise.
This acquisition further strengthens this element of our company within Germany
and enhances our business greatly.”
NightExpress provides an
international full service portfolio of logistics solutions, offering
tailor-made and flexible transport of air freight shipments for any type of
cargo, all branches of industry and individual customer needs. The company has
held a position as a specialist provider for time critical overnight cargo
services between Germany and the UK for almost 30 years and operates express
cargo flights from Frankfurt to Coventry and back, five nights a week. The
company also provides other countries throughout Europe with ad-hoc cargo
charter flights and fixed contract operated routes.
Yvonne Boag, Managing Director
of Nightexpress, said: “Historically we have worked alongside individual
members of the BDA senior management team and we are looking forward to
developing an even closer relationship within the BDA group of companies. We
are excited by the new extended opportunities this relationship provides,
especially being able to add further services that BDA already has in its
portfolio, to those that we have offered for so many years out of Frankfurt.
This will provide all our clients with an even greater number of service
options to deliver their time-critical and express consignments from Germany
into the UK and Ireland.”
