Bradford Garden Centre's Audience with Milly Johnson event raised over £850
Tong Garden Centre's ‘Audience with' award-winning author, Milly Johnson raised over £850 for its charity of the year, Bradford Stories that works with the National Literacy Trust topromote reading, writing, speaking and listening.
70 people were entertained by theSunday TimesTop 5 bestselling author and ‘queen of feel-good fiction' in Tong's newly opened events centre on 26thSeptember.
Tong Garden Centre's Marketing Manager, Jo Dales was delighted with the success of the event: "Guests were served a delicious cream tea and were entertained by Milly's engaging and witty account of becoming an author. She was a great crowd entertainer and it was inspirational to hear about her incredible journey from trainee accountant to bestselling author of romantic fiction and to listen to her read from her new novel,The Magnificent Mrs Mayhew."
Milly Johnsonhas written sixteen novels and sold millions of copies. She is also a columnist for her local newspaper, a poet and an after-dinner speaker.
Tong Garden Centre occupies a 14 acre site in Tong village. It is one of Yorkshire's biggest garden centres with 110,000 square feet of retail space and parking for up to 700 cars.
