North Yorkshire businesses collaborative competition proves a great success

 

A social media competition to win a money can't buy prize donated by three North Yorkshire businesses was won by renewable energy specialist Ian Waller from Yarm.

 

Yorkshire Rapeseed Oil celebrated the launch of its newYorkshire Blue Cheese Dressing with a competition to promote the collaboration between the Thixendale based oil business and Shepherds Purse Artisan Cheese from Thirsk.

 

Mr Waller was announced as the winner of the competition and redeemed his prize ofprivate tours around Shepherds Purse and Yorkshire Rapeseed Oil, with lunch for four people in the private dining room at Dom's Kitchen in Malton recently.

 

Of the experience, he said:"Thanks so much for a fabulous prize. We loved every bit of the day. The tours were interesting, the hosts were generous and the foodie tastes awesome. Lunch was a wonderful event too. Fabulous Yorkshire day out!"

 

Yorkshire Blue Cheese Dressing is a combination of award-winning extra virgin rapeseed oil, Yorkshire Blue artisan cheese, white wine vinegar and honey that is available from farm shops, delis and independent retailers throughout Yorkshire and at food festivals nationwide. It has been launched to raise funds forYorkshire Rapeseed Oil's charity of the year for 2019, Hull based charityLife for a Kid Foundation that raises funds for sensory rooms for disadvantaged children and its therapy dog service at Hull Royal Infirmary.

 

Throughout 2019, the team at Yorkshire Rapeseed Oil will raise money from sporting events and sales of the limited edition dressing. The team kicked off the fundraising with a charity beer festival that raised over £2,000.

 

Yorkshire Rapeseed Oil was established in 2008 by Adam and Jennie Palmer on their farm in the heart of the Yorkshire Wolds. They produce a range ofoils, dressings and mayonnaisebased on their award-winning rapeseed oil that is produced exclusively from home. Their Yorkshire Wolds grown rapeis pressed, blended, bottled and labelled on the family farm.
