Soccer Superstars inspired to have fun!

Lhoist Steetley, in the guise of football coach Andy Parnell, inspired children in the summer months, to enjoy football and have some fun.

Lhoist Soccer Superstars, run by Andy, Production Manager at Whitwell, is a collaborative football coaching programme held at the Whitwell Primary School.

Training sessions, held throughout July and August, were designed to engage with children in school years 3-5.  Fun taster sessions encouraged team-building and promoted sport and fun-based fitness with 125 pupils taking part.

Andy is an FA Licensed coach in Football, Futsal & Goalkeeping and has been coaching and managing teams at the fourth oldest club in the world, Worksop Town Football Club, for over 8 years.

‘I love footie and wanted both girls and boys to learn how easy it is to get involved by enjoying a kick-about,' commented Andy. ‘We are not trying to find the next Harry Kane, just have loads of fun, but you never know!'

All children benefitted from Andy's experience and enthusiasm in a safe, positive and rewarding learning environment overseen by the school teaching staff.

Future sessions are designed to meet all aspects of the FA four corners Philosophy; Psychological, Physical, Technical and Social.  The main focus will be the social and physical aspects of the game to help promote the healthier physical and mental wellbeing of the children.
