Emma Williams | Red Tulips in Clarice Cliff Pot St Ives

Throughout the summer, New Craftsman Gallery presents work by St Ives artist Emma Williams. Emma's paintings are inspired by her love of the sea, and in this new collection she sets out to capture the particular beauty of the ocean at St Ives Bay in a series of colourful landscapes and still life works. In a palette of bright, seaside colours, Williams explores the ever-changing details of the bustling bay, its shapes and patterns, and its endless ocean shades of blue, green and grey. Through lively colour, flattened perspective and spacious compositions that reflect her decorative background in printed textile design, these vibrant paintings celebrate the artist's passion for the Cornish sea, for St Ives, and her particular love of ceramics.
