All-in-one ATMOS 41 weather station is affordable, user-friendly and versatile

Labcell, the UK distributor for METER Group, is introducing the METERATMOS 41affordable all-in-one weather station. Unlike most other all-in-one instruments, the ATMOS 41 measures both solar radiation and precipitation, as well as numerous other parameters. Furthermore, when used with a METER ZL6 data logger, the system provides the versatility that enables extra sensors to be added - such as for measuring soil moisture.

Data from the ATMOS 41's twelve onboard sensors is transmitted over a single wire which makes it particularly convenient to install when a wide variety of weather parameters are of interest: solar radiation; precipitation; vapour pressure; relative humidity; wind speed, direction and gusts; temperature; lightning strike count and distance; and barometric pressure. Plug-and-play compatibility with the ZL6 data logger means it is quick and straightforward to set up a weather monitoring system with no need for complex wiring or programming. Data is stored in the cloud and can be accessed remotely via any web browser - or, if preferred, the ATMOS 41 can be linked to any SDI-12 compatible data acquisition system.

The absence of moving parts means the ATMOS 41 is more reliable and requires less maintenance than weather stations incorporating traditional cup- or propeller-type anemometers. Its integral wind sensor uses sonic measurement technology and therefore offers an exceptional combination of reliability and accuracy over a very wide range of wind speeds from 0 to 30 m/s.

Thanks to its affordability, ease of use and versatility, the ATMOS 41 is suitable for use for research and commercial applications in the fields of biophysics, geophysics, environmental sciences, agriculture, horticulture, arboriculture and meteorology. With its ultra-low power consumption, minimal maintenance requirement and compatibility with the ZL6 data logger, it is an excellent choice for remote and inaccessible locations.
