North Yorkshire business launches new dressing to raise funds for charity

 

The team at a North Yorkshire rapeseed oilbusiness has launched a new product as part of a fundraising drivefor its charity of the year.

 

Yorkshire Rapeseed Oil's new Yorkshire Blue Cheese Dressing is a collaboration between the Thixendale business and Shepherds Purse from Thirsk and is a combination of award-winning extra virgin rapeseed oil, Yorkshire Blue artisan cheese, white wine vinegar and honey.

 

Yorkshire Rapeseed Oil's charity of the year for 2019 is Hull based charity Nice 2b Nicethat works as part of the Life for a Kid Foundation.Nice 2b Nicesupports disadvantaged children under the age of 16 living in the Hull and East-Riding area and uses therapy dog, Lewis tobring comfort to sick children and those with learning disabilities.

 

Of the fundraising, Yorkshire Rapeseed Oil's Marcelle Tisserant said: "We invited our facebook followers to nominate a charity for our 2019 fundraising. We shortlisted three charities for a public vote and were delighted that Nice 2b Nice came out on top. We're looking forward to raising valuable funds for this amazing charity."

 

The charity's founder, David Freer is delighted that Nice 2b Nice will benefit from Yorkshire Rapeseed Oil's fundraising:"We're delighted that the team has chosen to support us.

 

"Dogs like Lewis spread a lot of happiness and provide a mental lift for those who are hospitalised or receiving medical treatment at home," he added.

 

The launch of the limited edition dressing is being supported with a social media competition to win private tours around Shepherds Purse and Yorkshire Rapeseed Oil, with lunch in the private dining roomat Dom's Kitchen in Malton.The winner will be drawn at 4pm on the last day of the Great Yorkshire Show on 11thJuly.

 

Throughout 2019, the team at Yorkshire Rapeseed Oil will raise money from sporting events, a charity beer festival and sales of the limited edition dressing.

 

The dressing is available from farm shops, delis and independent retailers throughout Yorkshire and at food festivals nationwide.

 

Yorkshire Rapeseed Oil was established in 2008 by Adam and Jennie Palmer on their farm in the heart of the Yorkshire Wolds. They produce a range ofoils, dressings and mayonnaisebased on their award-winning rapeseed oil that is produced exclusively from home. Their Yorkshire Wolds grown rapeis pressed, blended, bottled and labelled on the family farm.
