We're working hard to put our section of the North Yorkshire coast on the national tourism map and accolades like this are invaluable, especially as we are only months away from bottling Yorkshire's first whisky."

White Rose Award chair Elaine Lemm said:"This year's panel of prestigious industry-wide experts have been well and truly put through their paces shortlisting for the recently revamped White Rose Awards. With the standard of entries continuing to rise, competition was fierce, and choosing finalists not easy. With the attention to detail, passion and sheer hard work seen from so many superb businesses, it is easy to see why Yorkshire has an outstanding reputation for tourism and hospitality.

Organised by tourism body Welcome to Yorkshire, the White Rose Awards celebrate the very best in food, drink, accommodation and attractions. The winners will be announced at a glittering award ceremony at the Leeds First Direct Arena on Monday 25th November. Over 1000 guests will enjoy an evening of top quality Yorkshire entertainment, including live music and a three-course meal featuring Yorkshire produce.

Spirit of Yorkshire was launched in 2016 and is a collaboration between farmer and brewer, Tom Mellor from Wold Top Brewery and business partner, David Thompson. It is the only distillery operating in the UK that grows all of its own barley for its whisky production.
