Bradford Garden Centre hosts a charity ‘Audience with' event

 

A Bradford Garden Centre is hosting an ‘Audience with' an award-winning Barnsley author to raise funds for its charity of the year.

 

On 26thSeptember, Tong Garden Centre will host an audience withSunday TimesTop 5 bestselling author and ‘queen of feel-good fiction', Milly Johnson with all proceeds going to the National Literacy Trust project, Bradford Stories.

 

Tong Garden Centre's Marketing Manager, Jo Dales said: "We're really looking forward to welcoming Milly to Tong for a witty and entertaining event to raise valuable funds for Bradford Stories. We're excited to hear about Milly's incredible journey from trainee accountant to bestselling author of romantic fiction and to listen to her read from her new novel,The Magnificent Mrs Mayhew."

 

Milly Johnson said "Community and literacy issues are close to my heart.  There is nothing more important than being able to read in life - it opens so many doors, so I'm delighted to be invited to Tong for a fund raising event that helps children and young people to grow by unlocking the opportunities that being able to read brings."

 

The audience with Milly takes place at 2pm in the new events centre at Tong Garden Centre. Tickets cost £12, or £25 including a signed hardback copy of Milly's latest bestseller,The Magnificent Mrs Mayhew,thatWoman's Weeklydescribed as "An uplifting read with a strong female heroine to draw you in."

 

Milly Johnsonhas written sixteen novels and sold millions of copies. Her novels always feature friendship, family, love, betrayal, good food and that little bit of magic in life that sometimes visits the unsuspecting. Milly is also a columnist for her local newspaper, a professional joke writer, poet and after-dinner speaker.

 

Tong Garden Centre occupies a 14 acre site in Tong village. It is one of Yorkshire's biggest garden centres with 110,000 square feet of retail space and parking for up to 700 cars.
