On two wheels for Alzheimer's Society

ON TWO WHEELS FOR THE ALZHEIMER'S SOCIETY

Pedal power rules - Medequip's Matt Ward and David Whitaker have successfully completed the challenging Vélo Birmingham & Midlands road bike sportive, crossing the finish line of the 100 mile course in around five and a half hours. They raised over £1000 for Medequip's nominated charity the Alzheimer's Society and both finished in the top 10% of 17,000 riders!

Vélo Birmingham & Midlands covers a gruelling yet rewarding closed road route that takes in a combination of panoramic countryside views, pretty villages, two city centres and a few iconic climbs that left our daring duo with more than a few aches and pains the following day! Both are keen cyclists with a considerable amount of experience, and thoroughly enjoyed combining their chosen sport with an opportunity to raise money for the UK's leading dementia support and research charity.

Medequip has been supporting The Alzheimer's Society for almost two years now, and events and challenges staged across the company have raised a total of £40,000 to date. Partnership with the charity has also enabled the company to further the cause of dementia awareness within its own ranks.
