CRAIG CURTIS BECOMES THE NEW PRESIDENT OF THE RECYCLING ASSOCIATION

CS Recycling managing director Craig Curtis has been elected as the new President of The Recycling Association.

He replaces Adrian Jackson, who has stepped down after retiring from the recycling industry.

The Recycling Association chief executive Simon Ellin said: "Craig Curtis is well known in the recycling industry and has been an active board member for a number of years. I've know Craig for a long time, and have always appreciated the support he has given to me and the Association.

"As managing director of CS Recycling, he has years of experience in the recycling sector that will prove valuable as we take The Recycling Association forward. Craig has recently been heavily involved in formulating the Association's response to the Resources and Waste Strategy consultation, where his experience and insights showed what an asset he will be as President.

"I would also like to thank Adrian Jackson for the years of service he has given to The Recycling Association as President and prior to that. Adrian has overseen a transformation of the Association that has seen a vast increase in the number of members. It has also been a time where the profile of the Association has never been higher. Adrian's support and efforts have been a huge part of that."

Craig Curtis said: "I am delighted to become President of The Recycling Association and consider it a great honour. I am looking forward to building on the fantastic work that Adrian and Simon have produced over the past few years and will continue working on growing the membership, lobbying the Government and the EU, increasing our networking opportunities and promoting our very successful Quality First campaign.

"With the recently published Resources & Waste Strategy and extended producer responsibility coming into force, it is a time of great change for the recycling industry and I am excited to work in this role to help the industry reach its potential. I can't wait to get started."

Adrian Jackson said: "I would like to congratulate Craig on becoming President of The Recycling Association. I've thoroughly enjoyed my time as President, and I'm sure he will do too.

"The Recycling Association is fortunate to have somebody like Craig as its President, and I know he will represent the interests of its fantastic membership. I'd like to take this opportunity to thank Simon and the team in Daventry for all their hard work over the time of my Presidency, and I'm sure Craig will really enjoy working with them.

"Now that I have retired from the recycling industry, it seemed like the ideal opportunity to step down. I wish Craig all the best in his time as President."
