This month, hard work, commitment and quality coaching will see a squad of 20 keen, young gymnasts from a local club in Stafford compete at theNational Acrobatic Finalsin Stoke-on-Trent.

On May 18 and 19 at Fenton Manor Sports Complex judges will assess seven pairs and two trios of eight to 17-year olds from Stafford Gymnastics Club as they compete for top honours with the support of a local accountancy firm.

Chartered certified accountants Howards has helped the club to buy state-of-the-art equipment so that the youngsters can practice acro-gymnastic skills at their training sessions. The firm also supports the club with funding for publicity and promotion to recruit keen young gymnasts.

Club owner Emma Hunt says: "Over the past three years we have built up our membership and interest in acro-gymnastics has grown rapidly in Stafford. We are delighted that the hard work of so many of our gymnasts has paid off this year, with the club having a record number of representatives at this year's finals, competing for top titles nationally."

The team of 51 gymnasts won 20 gold, 15 silver and four bronze medals in the West Midlands regional qualifiers held in March.

Howards' Richard Taylor adds, "As the largest firm of accountants in Stafford we support many local businesses and sole traders - some of whom use this gym with their families. We are keen to support the community in whatever way we can. All of us at Howards would like to wish the girls the very best of luck!"

The annual National Acrobatics contest sees hundreds of boys and girls aged eight years and over showcase their choreography skills, strength and flexibility across a two-day competition for prestigious titles.
