Clear Company appoints Jenny Hinde as Executive Director

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Clear Company appoints Jenny Hinde as Executive Director

The Clear Company, recognised leaders in the provision of inclusive talent management insight, training and technology have formally announced the appointment of Jenny Hinde as Executive Director and Shareholder.

Jenny has more than 20 years' HR experience, her most recent role as HR Director of Amey saw her lead a successful Diversity and Inclusion agenda in the construction and engineering sector for 10 years. Combined with extensive change management skills she has a full understanding of what it takes to move the dial in sectors where many businesses are still to make diversity the focus of corporate strategy.

Notable achievements in her time at Amey include significant progress in reducing gender imbalance resulting in established women's development programmes, reverse mentoring, the Women at Amey networking group and the achievement of gender balance at graduate intake.  Her "business as usual" inclusion strategy also lead to:

  • The creation of an active LGBT network
  • The introduction of Disability Champions and a framework to support disabled employees
  • An apprenticeship programme designed to attract people from different socio-economic backgrounds.
  • A programme to support regional hubs in making sure their workforce reflected the local communities

The Clear Company have been consistently influencing change in this sector through their work with clients such as HS2 and Highways England which includes sector specific training and an Engineering version of Clear Assured, a global D&I accreditation standard, accessed online. A more diverse, global society and a younger workforce with different expectations and career choices are key drivers of change; and traditional approaches to talent management no longer deliver commercial success.

Jenny's influence and established contacts in this sector will enable the Clear Company to accelerate it's product and service offering into industry recognised standards that continue to deliver sustainable progress and change in the sector. Her firm belief that D&I should be accessible to all types and size of business has seen her deliver a number of innovations during the last 12 months. Successes include the expansion of the business' Diversity Forums into the NE and Midlands regions.  The networking and learning events are hosted by regional businesses providing an informal, constructive opportunity to hear from D&I experts and learn from other delegates.

She has been responsible for the launch and continuing development of the Clear Company's training business, offering both face to face and online training.  Open training workshops now allow any business to register for a single place in order to benefit from the accredited training programme.  Access to the business training expertise has been widened with the launch of online training modules providing greater flexibility and knowledge sharing.

In an area impacting all sectors Jenny is leading the Clear Company's Gender Pay Gap campaign, which has included building a partnership with the ground breaking pay gap analytics business, GapSquare.  Her in-depth understanding of the barriers to gender diversity translates across all markets and she has successfully implemented projects with leading organisations in the Retail and Lloyd's Market sectors.

Her first focus on inclusion began during her time as a student at Bradford University where she ran for and was elected as Women's Officer in her final year.  The role involved staying on for a year post degree in order to campaign for and raise awareness of a variety of issues around inclusiveness, safety and health; the issues that were important to female students.

In between balancing work and family life, Jenny also finds time to be a Disability and Parent Carer campaigner and a Governor at a Special Needs school.

"Jenny joins us at an exciting time in the growth of the Clear Company, not only of it's highly successful consultancy service but also the innovative range of online learning and leadership products.  As diversity is increasingly recognised as a major contributor to commercial success Jenny and the Clear Company are well placed to support their clients to become leaders in inclusion through effective long term change."  Kate Headley, Director of Consulting, The Clear Company.
