Bradford Garden Centre is shortlisted for two awards in national industry awards
Directors and staff at a Bradford Garden Centre are celebrating after being announced as finalists in two awards of a horticulture industry competition.
Tong Garden Centre has been shortlisted in the Best New-Build, Refurbishment, Refit or Extensionand theBest Sales or Marketing Campaign Categories of theHorticulture WeekBusiness Awards 2019.
The awards recognise and reward the achievements of businesses in commercial horticulture and related industries and are supported by industry sponsors including theHorticultural Trades Association(HTA).
Tong's nomination for the final ofBest New-Build, Refurbishment, Refit or Extension category is a result of the work done to refurbish the Food Hall and the story of its Christmas campaign,Wonderearned the team a place in the BestSales or MarketingCampaign category final.
The shortlist has been drawn up by experts including representatives from academia, industry, professional and charity sectors and the winners will be announced at a reception and presentation at the London Marriott Hotel Grosvenor Square on the 27th June.
Tong Garden Centre marketing manager, Jo Dales is delighted with the news: "To reach the final in two categories is testament to the fabulous team we have at Tong who have worked tirelessly to implement the Food Hall refurb and to deliver an exceptional Christmas campaign.
"Giving our customers a fantastic experience underpins everything we do at Tong and it's very rewarding that our efforts have been recognised nationally."
A spokesperson for the second Horticulture Week Business Awards said: "The goal of this pan-industry awards scheme is to honour the outstanding achievements of businesses operating in production, garden retail, landscape contracting, arboriculture and more - and to ensure those achievements are recognised by the industry's customers, clients and stakeholders."
Tong Garden Centre occupies a 14 acre site in Tong village. It is one of Yorkshire's biggest garden centres with 110,000 square feet of retail space and parking for up to 700 cars.
