Yorkshire whisky distillery welcomes Edwina Hayes to its Jazz and Blues night

Yorkshire's first whisky distillery welcomes Edwina Hayes to its monthly Jazz and Blues night

Driffield singer-songwriter, Edwina Hayes will stand in for Alastair James at the next Jazz and Blues night at Spirit of Yorkshire Distillery.

Edwina, who has, according to American folk star, Nanci Griffith ‘the sweetest voice in England', will perform at the Hunmanby distillery's Pot Still Coffee Shop on Friday 10thMay.

Spirit of Yorkshire co-founder and keen musician, Tom Mellor, is delighted to welcome Edwina back to the Pot Still stage: "With my Wold Top Brewery hat on, Edwina has been a friend of the Moonbeams Festival since it began 11 years ago, and we're delighted to welcome her back to the distillery again."

Edwina is equally delighted to be performing: "I'm honoured to be stepping for Alastair James, while he is playing in Portugal this summer, at my favourite whisky distillery."

Edwina's beautifully written songs, charming stage presence and voice of an angel have won her a reputation as a true natural talent of gentle folk-Americana. She has opened numerous shows for Jools Holland and Van Morrison and has played stages everywhere from Glastonbury Festival to The Royal Albert Hall. Her cover of the Randy Newman song Feels Like Home was featured in the Cameron Diaz film My Sister's Keeper and has had over eight million plays on You Tube.

Tickets for the event cost £10 and from £15.50 with a distillery supper. They are available online at spiritofyorkshire.com or by calling 01723 891758.

Tours of the Distillery are available seven days a week and home-made refreshments are served in the Pot Still Coffee Shop that overlooks the stills from 9.30am - 5pm Monday - Saturday, 10am - 3pm Sundays.
