Employees at Stafford and Rural Homes (SARH) have delivered an egg-cellent Easter treat for children in the communities served by the housing association.

Their efforts to provide a welcome treat for families who may be struggling to make ends meet also received a boost from a local Radio Station, Signal 1  which donated 50 eggs to SARH from its own Easter Egg appeal.

In the run-up to the holiday, kind-hearted employees at the housing association also joined a special bake-off that's raising money for the SARH C.A.R.E.S.  Foundation, which supports a range of worthy local causes.

Jo Hough, Director of Organisational Development at SARH, explained: "Over the past few weeks employees from across the organisation have been busy collecting and donating Easter eggs of all shapes and sizes and we're also very grateful to Signal for their support.

"Now the eggs have been distributed to help bring a smile to the faces of many youngsters across the Borough.

"Members of the SARH team were also been busy in the kitchen baking some delicious cakes for a sale at our headquarters in Parker Court, Stafford, and, as an added incentive to serve up something special, prizes were awarded for the best baking creations."

The eggs were shared out by a number of voluntary organisations, including Rising Brook Baptist Church, Highfields Sign Post Centre, and Old Chapel Works.

Money raised from the cake sales will be put to good use by the SARH C.A.R.E.S. Foundation to support communities, groups and organisations working tomake a real difference in neighbourhoods served by the area's leading provider of affordable homes to rent.

Named after theorganisation's core values -Communication, Approachable, Respectful, Empowering, and Supportive - the Foundation has proved a huge success since it was launched late last year.

Karen Armitage, SARH Chief Executive, commented: "SARH has a mission to make Stafford and the surrounding area an even better place to live, work and grow, and our employees are always on the lookout for ways to raise money that will help support local communities to help themselves.

"Easter also provides the opportunity to show we care, and the generous donation of so many chocolate eggs will no doubt provide a welcome treat for those most in need of a little pick-me-up."
