BLANCO discusses sink style

There arestrongstyles trendsat the higher end of the market. Alongside precision engineered stainless steel products, the stalwart of stunning kitchens everywhere, preferencesfor multiple textures or multi-function solutionsareon the rise.

Properties, especially in the major cities, feature high-end price tags but donotnecessarily offer huge kitchen spaces; more often than not,it's a combined kitchen and living space. Therefore, the need for space-saving,multi-purpose sink areas is growing.

The ETAGON range of sinks has been a fantastic success since its launch in 2017. The sink is available in stainless steel, SILGRANIT® PuraDur® in ten colours, or ceramic in four colours, and as either under-mount or inset installations; the options arewide.

Key to the success of the ETAGON is the three level system and cleverly-designed accessories that allow the bowl to be used as a workstation for chopping, rinsing and draining all at the same time. Coupled with the stunning PANERA-S mixer tap in brushed stainless steel, the ETAGON offers a combination of choice of material, finishes and functionality and is ideal for compact or open kitchens where worktop space is at a premium and style is absolutely demanded.

Different combinations of materials and finishes are being used more and more in kitchen and interior design to offer tactile experiences whilst providing a practical and visual zoning of space and use. BLANCO engineers custom-made stainless steel worktops with integrated bowls. Our latest response to the trend for mixed materials is to integrate the highly durable SILGRANIT® bowls with the stunning and extremely scratch-resistant Durinox® stainless steel worktops. This pairing of stainless and SILGRANIT® can also be seen in our ARTAGO and SUBLINE sinks whilst the amazingly soft to the touch yet tough Durinox® finish can be seen in the STEELART® CLARON and ZEROX models.  

As kitchen space andworktop space seem to be reducing in the UK property market, we are actually seeing a surprising trend that goes against that grain. Larger bowls - both wider and deeperdue to the want to use the sink to keep things like baking trays and pots out of sight while they soak or simply keep the washing up hidden while it waits to be rinsed and loaded into the dishwasher. It makes the bowl a practical storage area to keep the surface area clear of mess - It's gets away from 'less is more' and shouts 'bigger is better'.
