PRESS RELEASE

UNIVERSITIES INVITED TO SHOWCASE RECYCLING INNOVATIONS
Universities and research establishments from the UK and further afield are being invited to highlight their transformational work within the recycling and circular economy sectors at The Recycling Event taking place on 2nd July 2019 at The Ricoh Arena, Coventry.

The conference, which is being supported by nine of the UK’s leading recycling associations, will help UK and global organisations understand how innovations can change recycling and circular economy outcomes.

"We are reaching out to universities, research establishments and innovators to find out about the new and potentially transformational projects that are currently being developed. Industry needs to be able to take these into account when planning for their recycling and circular futures. And, by highlighting them at an early stage, we can encourage industry to contribute to the success of these projects," said Event Director Adrienne Robins.

As part of the conference programme, organisations working on projects that they believe could significantly improve recycling and circularity outcomes are invited to submit a synopsis of a 20 minute presentation. Two successful submissions will be invited to give their presentation as part of the conference.

In addition, five further organisations will be invited to showcase their innovations within the Conference networking area.

Submissions should be no more than 1,000 words and should be emailed to adrienne.robins@harosa.com by 5pm, Friday 26 April.

Submissions will be reviewed by a panel of recycling sector experts and entrants will be informed of the decision regarding their presentation no later than Friday 24 May.

The Recycling Event will address a range of critical issues facing UK recycling and its associated supply chain, including the urgent need for appropriate material and packaging innovation, supply chains management, market changes, infrastructure development and policy requirements. It is being led by an editorial board made up of the nine UK recycling associations listed below:

  • The Recycling Association
  • Resource Association
  • Alupro
  • Confederation of Paper Industries
  • British Glass
  • Recoup
  • Incpen
  • British Metals Recycling Association
  • Wood Recyclers Association
