Farm shop's charity gin and therapy night is just the tonic

 

A Pocklington farm shop is hosting a ‘G&T' evening to raise funds for Yorkshire Air Ambulance.

 

The Mile-Farm Shop is holding a Gin and Therapy evening on Friday, March 22, for people to enjoy retail and holistic therapy and speciality gin.

 

Organiser of the event, Jo Barnes said: "We wanted to put on another fundraiser for Yorkshire Air Ambulance and, given that it's just a week before Mother's Day, we thought that we would host a social evening with a bit of pampering, retail therapy and some speciality gin.

"The free pamper taster sessions will be available on a first come, first served basis and guests will be able to choose between Reiki from B Fitness and Wellbeing;a neck and shoulder massage by Hands that Heal;a mini facial from Tropic Skincareor astyle and colour analysis from Styled By Laura.

"There will also be retail therapy stalls in the Barn sellingpamper products and treats, includingButterflies Chocolates; Concealed Scents; Prickles Party Food; Boho Queen Jewellery; Flamingo Stationery; Body Shop at Home; Let it be Gin and Pinewood Crafts. All of the stall holders have very generously donated a raffle prize to raise additional funds for Yorkshire Air Ambulance."

Jo Barnes, who runs the Mile - Pocklington with husband Colin, said: "We're looking forward to a relaxing evening where guests can taste great gin, relax with a taster therapy treatment and enjoy unusual stalls whilst raising money for a worthy cause.

 

Tickets for the evening, which takes place at The Mile - Pocklington, cost £5 and include a speciality gin,prosecco, wine or fruit juiceand canapés. They are available from the shop or can be reserved over the phone by calling01759 305420.There will also be a gin bar featuring local gins from Hooting Owl Distillery and Sloemotion.

 

The Mile-Pocklington has raised over £400 for Yorkshire Air Ambulance over the last 18 months.

 

The Mile-Pocklington is a family run business owned by the Barnes family who have farmed in the area for decades. The farm shop specialises in food and drink items from regional producers that can't be found in supermarkets. The Mile - Pocklington is also home to a feed shed; the 27 seater Smile café and children's play barn; an events space; a two-acreCamping & Caravan Club accreditedsite and a photo and gift studio.

 

The Mile-Pocklington is open from 9am to 5pm Monday to Saturday and 9.30 to 12.30 on Sunday. The Smile Café is open 9am to 3pm Monday to Saturday and 9.30 to 12.30 on Sunday.
