New Craftsman gallery launch their 2019 season with an exhibition of paintings by artist Emma Jeffryes, alongside a new collection of ceramics by Adam Buick.

St Ives has long been the focus of Emma Jeffryes' work, but this new exhibition sees her exploring outwards from St Ives to the coast path around Penwith. Inspired by the spectacular walk from Penzance to Newlyn, from Newlyn to Mousehole, on to the idyllic cove of Lamorna and round to St Ives Bay, the collection explores the iconic visual details of this unique stretch of coast. In particular, the area's stunning white beaches and shifting tides are the backdrop for a visual celebration of the buildings, piers, trawlers and brightly coloured fishing boats that define life on the far west coast.

Potter Adam Buick's work is strongly embedded in the subjective study of landscape. From large scale Moonjars to groups of miniature pots, his simple, highly tactile ceramic forms are glazed in a palette of natural colours, and Incorporate the texture of grit, sand and rocks into their surfaces.
