Yorkshire's first whisky distillery hosts World Whisky Tasting evening


Following on from its sell out Burns Night Supper, Yorkshire's first whisky distillery is hosting a World Whisky Tasting event on 15thFebruary.


In anticipation of the launch of its first Single Malt Whisky later this year, the team at Hunmanby based Spirit of Yorkshire are showing their support of the world whisky stage with a tasting evening of award winning global whisky.


Spirit of Yorkshire's Whisky Director, Joe Clark will curate the tasting experience that will include six drams: "Although we're Yorkshire's first ever single Malt Whisky distillery, we are also keen to support the world whisky scene and are giving guests the opportunity to come and try some of the best award winning whiskies from around the globe.


"We challenge you toput your nose and palate to the test as you follow us through a blind tasting of six award winning drams, with a bonus dram for those who can identify our own Maturing Malt amongst them."

Forthcoming events at the Distillery's Pot Still Coffee Shop include Friday Night Jazz and Blues on 8thFebruary, Valentine's Afternoon Tea from 14thto 17thFebruary, Edwina Hayes on 22ndFebruary and a Whisky and Chocolate Pairing Evening with Bullion Chocolate on 15thMarch.


In addition to music and tasting events, visitors to Spirit of Yorkshire can enjoy guided

Tours of the Distillery and home-made refreshments fromthe Pot Still Coffee Shop seven days a week, all year round.


Spirit of Yorkshire was launched in 2016 and is a collaboration between farmer and brewer, Tom Mellor from Wold Top Brewery and business partner, David Thompson.
