The benefits of keeping mobile clearly evident as octogenarian picks up latest motor cycle from SW motorcycling specialists

When 85 year old Dick Comer collected the very latest incarnation of Honda's classic Super Cub from Bransons Motorcycles in Yeovil earlier this month, it was clear he epitomised the very spirit of Soichiro Honda's aim of keeping people mobile - a maxim stated when the very first Super Cub C100 was introduced in 1958, Honda's 10th year of existence.

Dick, a well-known retired local motor trader, has been a keen motorcyclist since the age of 14 and competed successfully in Motorcycle Trials into his early seventies.  He has owned numerous different makes and models over the years. Paul Branson from Bransons Motorcycles said, "Dick has been a customer of ours since we first opened the business back in 1979. We're now in our 40th year and I'd like to wish him all the best and many more years of happy motorcycling".

The very first Super Cub C100 was introduced in 1958. Designed by Soichiro Honda, its stated aim was straightforward: ‘to provide the joy of playing a useful part in people's lives'.

Nearly 60 years later, in 2017, the 100 millionth Super Cub was built, making it the most popular motor vehicle the world has ever seen. Along the way the Super Cub's simple attributes of style, reliability, frugality and sheer usability have never gone out of fashion; it has quietly achieved exactly what Soichiro wanted: to get people mobile and keep them mobile.

Started by Paul Branson in 1979, Bransons has been successfully supplying motorcycles to customers all over the South West for 40 years from premises in Yeovil, Somerset.
