Romance is in the air at new wedding venue open day

Did you know 40 per cent of marriage proposals happen between Christmas and Valentine’s Day each year?* Christmas Eve, Christmas Day and New Year’s Day are three of the four most popular days to get engaged, with February 14 being the obvious frontrunner.

If you’re hoping your beloved might pop the question this Valentine’s Day, the team at Village Farm Marquees, East Yorkshire’s leading marquee hire company, are keeping everything crossed for you.

And because they understand that we’re approaching such a popular time for romance, they are collaborating with the rural Barff House wedding venue, near Brandesburton, to arrange an open day packed with inspiration for newly engaged couples wishing to cement their wedding plans.

Chrysta Newman, Village Farm Marquees Co-director, said: “Whether you’re already engaged and looking to organise the venue, marquee and suppliers for your big day, or you’re among those newly engaged and planning ahead for 2019 and beyond, we’ll have oodles of inspiration lined up to get you started.

“Barff House is an intimate, family-run venue nestled in unspoilt countryside. It is a very special site which has huge appeal for any couple looking for a country-style wedding.

“All weddings there feature one of our marquees, exclusive use of the gardens including magical private woodland with lanterns, straw bale seating and fire pit, and also a beautifully renovated party barn which has plenty of room for guests to dance the night away.”

The ‘Secret Garden’ themed open day will take place on Sunday March 24 from 11am to 3pm. It will feature both a classic clearspan marquee and a clear-roof marquee, and visitors will have the opportunity to take a full look around Barff House, the barn, and the idyllic grounds. Village Farm will also be displaying one of the latest trends for marquee weddings – stunning light and foliage boxes – as well as greenery-based floristry, which is also proving a popular choice for celebrations in 2019.

Guests will have the chance to see at first-hand the accommodation available on the Georgian farmhouse’s site: The Cart Shed, a converted stable which sleeps up to six people, and the romantic Woodland Hut, which is reserved for the bride and groom on the night of their wedding.

Chrysta added: “A selection of popular local suppliers will also be attending, including caterers, florists, a magician, a photographer, and more**. Anyone wishing to attend can book their free place via the Village Farm Marquees Facebook page.”

To book your free place, register at the Village Farm Marquees Facebook event.

The site is easily accessible from the main road to Brandesburton (postcode YO25 8LX) and offers plenty of parking space.
