CAMPERS & CARAVANNERS HAVE BETTER PHYSICAL AND MENTAL HEALTH

Press Information -25 January 2019

Prescribe Camping & Caravanning for Better Mental & Physical Health

77% of campers are satisfied with their quality of life compared to 59% of non-campers

With recent data showing that the state of the nation's mental and physical health is an ongoing concern, now is the time to get some inspiration on how to improve your family's wellbeing by spending time in the great outdoors!

For last year's Mental Health Awareness Day, statistics were released showing that one in four people in the UK experience a mental health problem every year and that the most common mental health condition is anxiety. It also demonstrated that half of all mental illness begins by the age of 14 and that three quarters of all mental health problems are established by the age of 24.

Z:\Clients\NCC EVENTS\CC&MSHOW 2019\IMAGES\Family.JPGTaking place from 19th - 24th February the Caravan, Camping and Motorhome Show 2019 is your one-stop-shop to kick-start your new healthier outdoors lifestyle!

Studies have shown that 77% of campers are satisfied with their quality of life compared to 59% of non-campers and that 93% of campers say camping can make you happier. Research also showed that 80% of children who camp feel their parents are less stressed when they go camping and three-quarters say their parents shout less!

With studies also showing that half of Britons will be obese by 2045 and more recently, a Public Health England report stating that by the time children are 10 years old they will have exceeded the maximum recommended sugar intake for an 18 year old; undoubtedly contributing to the obesity crisis, it's now more important than ever to make the switch to - and encourage from an early age - a healthier and more active lifestyle for both mind and body!

Whether you are new to the outdoors lifestyle or a long time camper or caravanner, the Caravan, Camping and Motorhome Show offers inspiration for all! It features the largest display of caravans, motorhomes, tents, awnings and accessories all under one roof, as well as the latest trends in destinations. New for 2019 is the Bear Grylls Adventure feature area, offering four epic challenges to test your physical and mental strength - perfect for all budding adventurers! BUY TICKETS HERE
