Shifnal-based Egertons Barbers has doubled in size and is launching a new mobile events business to keep revellers well-groomed at festivals around the country.

Egertons was established over 10 years ago, and with the progressive business advice of Howards Chartered Certified Accountants, has grown from two chairs in its busy shop in Shifnal to having four state registered barbers giving stylish haircuts. Owner Mark Egerton is also investing in an iconic silver Airstream trailer to offer modern male grooming at the UKs trendiest festivals and events.

Says Mark: "Barbering is my passion, it runs in my family: my grandad was a barber. I love to give my customers the best grooming experience in a comfortable environment but when it came to raising the bar in running a barbering business I needed some strategic advice."

Managing Director Matt Bailey and the team at Howards provided Egertons with tax, bookkeeping, payroll, accounts and investment advice as well as ongoing business consultancy support.

Added Matt,: "Mark had a clear vision of building a traditional barbering experience with a modern twist. But like all professionals who are not experts at running a business, he needed help on getting a balance and ensuring he made a profit at the same time."

Whilst retailers around the country are struggling to stay open, there is a current resurgence of men's grooming on the high street. Egerton's Barbers, a member of the prestigious British Barbers Association, is based on Victoria Road in Shifnal and is an authentic, traditional barber shop with a modern edge, offering professional, friendly barbering in a modern setting. With walk in appointments available 60 hours a week, men and boys can stay looking good with traditional and modern cuts.

"It's not just about looking better, it's about feeling better too," commented Mark. "When guys come here they want a special experience, whether it is a shoe shine or a haircut. So I wanted to invest in the best team and equipment to make the visits memorable and enjoyable.

"Not only have I now got all my paperwork sorted so that I know exactly where I am every month, but I also can't wait to take the American-style trailer around the UK to give even more clients a fantastic barbering experience."
