Light Up Purple for World Prematurity Day

Light Up Purple this World Prematurity Day

Hemel Hempstead - Dräger isasking users of its Babyleo TN500 IncuWarmers to set the mood lighting on their devices to purple, the main colour of the World Prematurity Day campaign to show support and raise awareness of World Prematurity Day on 17thNovember.

The World Health Organisation (WHO) states that an estimated 15 million babies are born preterm every year - more than 1 in 10 babies around the world and this number is rising. Preterm birth complications are the leading cause of death for children under 5, causing an estimated 1 million deaths in 2015 globally. Many survivors of preterm birth face a lifetime of disability, including learning disabilities and visual and hearing problems.

World Prematurity Day raises awareness of the major issues of preterm birth and the concerns of preterm babies and their families worldwide.

Light Up Purple
To show support and raise awareness of World Prematurity Day on 17thNovember, Dräger is asking users of its Babyleo TN500 IncuWarmers around the world to set the mood lighting on their devices to purple, the main colour of the World Prematurity Day campaign. The Babyleo TN500 is Dräger's first IncuWarmer that provides optimal thermoregulation for neonates in open care, closed care and transition. Alternatively, if you don't have Babyleo TN500 in your NICU you can still get involved by decorating your NICU purple to raise awareness.

Follow Dräger's social media channels to find out more about the Light Up Purple campaign and share your World Prematurity Day pictures using the #purpleforpreemies and tagging Dräger in the post.
