New state-of-the-art centre for fertility and women's health

OCTOBER 2018

NEW state-of-the-art centre promises an innovative approach to Fertility and Women's Health

THE EVEWELL, a new centre dedicated to all aspects of gynaecology and reproductive health opens this month in London's Harley Street, offering patients much more than a fertility clinic. The Evewell combines a focus on both gynaecology and reproductive health to ensure that fertility patients receive the most appropriate treatment and advice to maximise their prospects of conceiving.

The Evewell Medical Director, Mr Colin Davis, is an eminent fertility and gynaecology consultant and surgeon known for his patient-focused approach. He created The Evewell to ensure that IVF and other fertility treatments are not automatically offered when there is possibly an underlying gynaecological reason that is preventing pregnancy.

Said Colin:

"A lot of individuals and couples now seek fertility treatment, but often the service and support they get is limited to just a few appointments and a limited range of treatment options.   Often a deeper investigation of the causes of infertility will uncover an underlying condition that needs to be treated first - sometimes meaning fertility treatment isn't needed.  For example, common conditions such as endometriosis, polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS) and ovarian cysts can all affect fertility and pregnancy outcomes.

The Evewell also wants to empower women of all ages to care for and protect their gynaecological and reproductive health and is providing screening, diagnosis and annual review.    Said Colin: "For younger women early screening and diagnosis of these conditions is key to preserving their fertility long before they even begin thinking about having babies."

Co-founder andPatient Services Director, Emma Kafton, together with the team have brought this vision to life atThe Evewell.   This has meant a different business model where each individual patient's experience and outcome is more important than patient numbers.  Far from the formulaic approach of traditional fertility clinics, each patient is taken through an individual journey designed to get to the very heart of their fertility problems - increasing the chances of a successful outcome and alleviating much of the stress and uncertainty along the way.

 Emma said:

"We set out to create alife-enhancing approach to fertility and gynaecological health.  To set up a centre that cares for and protects women's health, both gynaecological and reproductive, throughout their life. For our fertility patients we ensure that they are receiving the most appropriate course of treatment and for all women, of all ages, we focus on preventative screening, early diagnosis and annual reviews and monitoring."

 State-of-the-art Facility

The Evewell is equipped with many of the latest technological innovations to investigate and treat all types and complexities of fertility or gynaecology issues.   The centre hosts a full suite of diagnostic techniques, gynaecological and fertility treatments incorporating consulting rooms, procedure rooms, phlebotomy, a cryochamber and a laboratory all under one roof for the ease and comfort of patients.

Dr Christian Ottolini, Laboratory Director, at TheEvewell said:

"Our laboratory is equipped with the highest standards of air handling, time-lapse incubators and electronic witnessing systems. These technologies, combined with the best techniques and understanding, enable us to offer a safe, high quality, fully-integrated service, for our patients."

 Attention to detail

The Evewell has been designed with great attention to detail to redefine what women expect from a medical setting, with the sole motivation being to create a warm and luxurious space for patients.  This is very important when patients need to be calm during their consultation and treatment. Every aspect has been catered for from the moment a patient walks in, from reception to the consulting rooms to treatment and after care.

 Said Emma:

"We know that whatever brings a patient to The Evewell can be stressful and emotional, so we've created a space that is supportive at all stages. There is no detail too small for us to consider important. Whether it's a comfy chair for our patients to relax into pre or post treatment, a good cup of coffee, something decent to read. It all matters and makes a patient's experience as comfortable as it can be."

It took several years to realise Mr Davis' vision for The Evewell in designing and building the centre and its team. Early patient feedback is extremely positive.

 Said Emma:

"Patients particularly love the quiet rooms and that they don't feel they're being rushed through their procedures and after care.  We know we've created something different and special at The Evewell.  We've reinvented fertility care and now we look forward to significantly improving the experience and outcomes for many patients."

The Evewell is open five days a week from 8am to 6pm.  Appointments can be made directly on
