Perfect panelling from Abacus - the clever alternative to tiling

Abacus Bathrooms has launched a portfolio of fantastic panelling products to answer today's demand for design-led, innovative kitchens and bathrooms.

Launched as the perfect alternative to tiles, the inspirational ranges are equally at home in modern and classic schemes and offer the retailer and designer the edge in a competitive world. 

The collection currently  comprises of two brands - the new M1 series PVC panels and the best-selling scratch-resistent Lustrolite® glass effect panels. All panelling solutions are 100% waterproof and come with a 10-year guarantee. Super easy to clean and hygienic, and quick to install, the surfaces eliminate the need for grouting and are scratch resistant.  They are suitable for both domestic and commercial applications.

The lightweight, high gloss M1 PVC wall panels, with a waterproof honeycomb core, are suitable for all walls and ceilings in showers, bathrooms, bedrooms, kitchens, conservatories, extensions and utility rooms.  They can be fitted over existing surfaces including tiles and a range of trims is available for superb finishing for the variety of 14 designs and colours - from classic marble through to shimmering diamond and contemporary slate. 

Class 1 fire-rated with excellent insulation and sound proofing, the panels are easy to install as they are tongue and groove. They come in two sizes - 1000mm (w) x 2400mm (h) x 10mm (d); and 1200mm (w) x 2400mm (h) and 10mm (d). Five pre-assembled panel kits are available for easy selling - from a two-sided corner shower kit to a 3 panel L-shape kit, as an example.

The final touch is the M1 easy-fix ceiling PVC panels with a 250mm width section, giving a paint and plaster-free ceiling. They create an attractive, functional ceiling that is easy to maintain and looks stylish. Sized at 250mm (w - tongue and groove) x 2700mm (h) x 5mm (d), the panels are available in packs of four.

Lustrolite®, already a class-leading product in the UK, is an advanced multi-layer acrylic sheet which looks just like glass. The panel weighs less than half the weight of a traditional glass sheet and is much safer to use and install.  The only panel of this type which boasts high scratch resistance, the panel's colour is permanently fused to the back of the sheet, ensuring that the colour can never be effected by moisture.  Available in nine stunning colours, Lustrolite® is an easy install option, giving a designer look to shower walls and splashbacks.  Class 3 fire rated, Lustrolite® is available in four sizes from 760mm (w) x 700mm (h)  to 2440mm (w) x 1220 (h) and is 4mm thick. 

Brand new to Lustrolite®, is a fast-cure, colour-matched MS-polymer to seal the joints for a seamless look; there is one for every one of the nine colours and it comes in a 290ml tube.
