PR: Global partners gather at MTEX Summit on digital textile and label printing

Global partners gather at MTEX's Summit to meet the ‘big beasts' of digital textile and label printing - the Dragon, the Eagle and the Lion

10th October 2018

Specialist print solutions manufacturer MTEX welcomed more than 60 business partners from around the globe to its annual summit in Porto, Portugal this month (3-4 October).

The event, which featured parallel information and discussion streams on textiles and labelling and packaging, was packed full of industry insight, updates on new product development and demos of the company's state of the art factory.

In his introduction, Eloi Ferreira, CEO of MTEX said: "2018 has been a year of incredible milestones, and we are ready to debut some exciting changes we´ve been working hard on over the past few months.

"Our goal is to be the most customer-oriented digital printing manufacturer and we are focused on bringing forward new high-quality machines in the textile field including the Dragon, Eagle and the upcoming Scorpion for a revolution in the direct-to-textile market.

"Another change we've announced is that MTEX is to absorb New Solution under one brand, making things simpler for customers and allowing us even better streamlining of manufacture and customer support."

Keynote speakers included Catherine Cresswell and Robert Leahey from Keypoint Intelligence who offered market insights and independent trend analysis for both the digital textile and packaging markets.

The new NS Lion was among the products discussed at the event. MTEX has already delivered four Dragon units against a target of more than 35 in 2018, and the first three Eagles will be shipped in October with a target of 10 in 2018.

The flight of the Dragon

The new MTEX Dragon is now fully fledged and ready for shipping and installation around the world. In fact, the first direct-to-textile sublimation unit is now working in Australia.

This fast and affordable 1.9m high speed transfer paper printer with inbuilt heat fixation has up to 2.5 times faster finished output than any other 1.9m wide textile printer in its class. Available with either Direct Sublimation or Pigment inksets. Find out more at http://mtex.eu/project/mtex-dragon/

Eloi said, "Our direct relationship with Panasonic Japan has enabled us to develop this unique dye-sublimation printer that the fashion and textile market is currently demanding. The Dragon is a game changer in terms of excellent return on investment of capital cost and also in terms of the stunning price of our high quality, high colourant inks which we believe are unbeatable in the market today. No one else even comes close with combined quality and price comparison."

The Eagle takes off

The MTEX Eagle is an industrial high-speed printer specifically engineered for direct fabric sublimation.

This 3.2m wide printer with the option of roll-to-roll or adhesive belt for stretched or knitted fabrics. It is predominantly aimed at the display graphics and home textiles markets for disperse (dye-sub) or pigment inks with speeds of up to 543sqm/hour.

The Eagle's Printhead Control Technology was developed and certified by MTEX, and its degassing system allows the ink to be transported from the bottles to the print heads, only being degassed as close as possible to the print head. Its Magnetic Linear Motor provides high acceleration and deceleration ratios with extremely high accuracy of 1mic and no maintenance, gearbox or belts.

Its inbuilt fixation unit has individually controlled and accurated sensors for temperature control to achieve uniform, brilliant and vivid colours in full width. Find out more athttp://mtex.eu/project/mtex-eagle/

The NS Lion roars into action

The NS Lion is a fully integrated digital label printer for the speedy production of professional colour labels from pre-coating of uncoated stock, through print, cut, lamination and finishing. It is one of the most flexible inline high speed digital label printer workflows on the market today, enabling production houses to produce labels on demand, in time and with variable data.

With print speeds of up to 18 meters per minute and a resolution of up to 1600 dpi, the NS Lion offers no compromise on either quality or speed and at a price point that will have many of their competitors running for cover.

Eloi said: "We were inspired by the feedback from our summit delegates and we believe they also enjoyed the opportunity to receive an update on our work so far this year and our ambitions for the future.

"As well as talking to them about our new machines we also outlined our aspiration of becoming the world-leader when it comes to customer and technical support, thanks to our newly streamlined systems for offering fast, efficient and top class services from our engineers and customer service teams when needed, guaranteeing that in the rare instance that a customer needs our help to get their systems back online, their downtime is kept to an absolute minimum, so our customers, and their customers in turn, know they can rely on MTEX technology."
