East Yorkshire brewery beer festival returns for a third year
Organisers of the sell-out Big Sky Beer Festival have announced that the event will return for a third year next month.
On 5thand 6th October, Wold Newton based Wold Top Brewery will welcome hundreds of visitors to its Hunmanby Grange home for the real ale, cider and music event that is organised by Muddy Souls Events.
The 18 guest beers have been specially chosen by members of the brewery team and includedrinks from all over the UK. In addition, Kilham cider maker, Colemans, will be sourcing a selection of ciders.
On the stage,Loose Coverzwill headline on the Friday evening; Scarborough jazz band,Easy Street will play on Saturday afternoon; Trent, an acoustic guitarist/singer will be on stage early Saturday eveningand Hit the Dance Floorwill close the festival. There will also be a quiz on Saturday lunchtime.
Muddy Souls Events manager AnneDuerden said after the sell-out success of the brewery's Big Sky beer festival last year, they were keen to repeat the event.
"People had a great time last year and we had lots of really positive feedback with visitors telling us how much they enjoyed themselves.
"Not only was it a celebration of real ale, but people enjoyed the whole experience - the live music, the food, the setting and the camping, for those brave enough!
Refreshments will be provided by Bridlington business, Field and Forage.
Wold Top Brewery's brewery manager, Alex Balchin, is looking forward to hosting the festival again: "As brewers, it's great to get feedback from the public about the beer that we brew and the festival is a great, relaxed way to engage with the people who support us.
"This year, because the beers have been selected by individuals in the team, members of the public will also be able to talk to them about why they selected the beers they did, so it could be quite entertaining!
"We have deliberately selected beers that are not available locally, so that people are able to try something new."
The festival runs from 6pm until 11pm on Friday, October 5th and from 12pm until 11pm on Saturday, October 6th.
Day tickets cost £5 for Friday and £7 for Saturday, weekend tickets cost £10, and camping pitches for Friday and Saturday are available for £10 per night. The festival takes its name from the phrase used by celebrated artist David Hockney when he compared the sky over the Yorkshire Wolds to 'the big sky' he experienced in the American West and reflects the unparalleled views from the brewery's top of the Wolds location.
