Yorkshire's first distillery to host a second Taste of Yorkshire Pop Up event

The team at Yorkshire's first whisky distillery is teaming up with York business Birds on the Loose for a repeat of the sell-out ‘Pot Still Pop Up' event that was held earlier in the year.

On 11thOctober, the kitchens at the Pot Still Coffee Shop at the Spirit of Yorkshire Distillery will be taken over by Sue Nelson and Gilly Robinson who will create a whisky themed three course meal using local and seasonal ingredients.

Spirit of Yorkshire director, David Thompson is looking forward to theevent: "The menu combines great Yorkshire food with what will be Yorkshire's first single malt whisky. Each of the three courses have been selected to complement the maturing malt spirit that is made with barley grown less than five miles away on our family farm."

Co-founder of Birds on the Loose, Sue Nelson gives a flavour of what to expect: "To start, guests will enjoy a Yorkshire twist on the traditional Scottish soup, Cullen Skink with locally smoked Bridlington haddock. This will be followed by local pheasant hot pot withsauté potatoes and autumn greens and desert will be chocolate and ginger bread and butter pudding with a Spirit of Yorkshire cream. We can't wait!"

Tickets cost £30 and are available from reception at Spirit of Yorkshire, over the phone by calling 01723891758or online atwww.spiritofyorkshire.com,www.birdsontheloose.com orwww.yorkshirefoodfinder.org/kitchen-social/pot-still-pop-up.
