Heatwave brings flurry of shoppers to garden centres

Britain's bout of hot weather has influenced sales in garden centres. Around 33% of the UK's population has spent more on their garden than normal this summer, with homeowners spending an average of £389. Garden furniture, barbecues and plants have lifted sales by 10.5% compared to last year (https://www.hortweek.com/garden-furniture-barbecues-plants-lift-june-sales-garden-centres-105/retail/article/1487226).

It has been revealed that 63% of the British public have invested in outdoor furniture whilst 59% have spent money on barbecues to entertain guests with alfresco dining. The third most popular item bought by 55% of the UK is children's play equipment, such as trampolines, whereas 47% of the nation preferred to invest in garden accessories, including cushions and outdoor lighting (https://www.ledhut.co.uk/blog/the-british-summer-garden-refresh/).
