West Country Document Storage Service celebrates 10,000th order

MEDIA RELEASE

Independent West Country Document Storage Service celebrates 10,000thorder by opening new space for 10,000 more boxes

When document storage and management service Filofile recently marked its 10,000th transaction with Somerset and Wiltshire chartered surveyor Cooper & Tanner, owner Simon Barber decided it was time to think ahead and develop another storage facility to house a further 10,000 boxes.

Outsourcing document storage and management has never been more popular, particularly with the stringent demands of General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) which may require a business to produce evidence of what has been stored about an individual and also demonstrate that information is properly managed, safe and secure - both digitally and in hard copy.,

Also despite talk of "the paperless office" statistics from the Information and Records Management Society (IMRS) confirm that over 85% of business documentation is still printed out as hard copy.

Nick Oliver, a senior partner at chartered surveyor Cooper & Tanner, is a long standing client of Filofile and recognises the important service the business offers for the agricultural division of the firm. He comments, "We have been a customer of Filofile for over 10 years and use it for storing our older files that require archiving. We've always found it to be a really effective, fast and efficient operation with a great retrieval service that can locate and bring a file to your office in less than two hours if urgently required."

Filofile is based in rural Somerset where former farmer Simon Barber converted the farm buildings which once housed hundreds of maturing cheeses into a highly secure storage facility suitable for housing not hundreds, but thousands of documents. These include valuable papers, files of documents, engineering drawings, healthcare records, media files and other confidential records that need to be placed into a long-term secure storage facility.

Filofile provides a truly unique service in an area stretching from Bath and all points South to Exeter and the South Coast as well as East to Salisbury Plain offering professional storage for office files. Clients have access to next day or same day delivery and priority or emergency requests can be delivered within two hours of an order.

The new warehouse provides 2,400 square foot and is built to house another 10,000 boxes. The building has a de-humidifier that keeps every file in pristine condition and there are tight police-linked security systems, fire alarms, shelving and smoke detectors in every aisle. The building's humidity is kept below 60% which means that the paper stays immaculate.

Filofile has been operating for more than 12 years and clients range from firms of accountants to hospitals, charities, schools and legal services. The business uses advanced barcode technology to ensure accuracy in all areas of document storage. Accurate tracking of documents is achieved by assigning unique barcode identification numbers to each document storage box and shelf location within the secure storage facility.

Simon Barber comments, "Filofile is an extremely cost effective way for businesses to store and manage records responsibly." For more information visit: www.filofile.co.uk
