Three opportunities to discover uplifting music from Bournemouth performers at Dorset's Milton Abbey this summer
Milton Abbey invites you to enjoy Bournemouth choirs and choruses this summer. Visit on:

Saturday 7th July at 7.00pm The Bournemouth Symphony Chorus in concert
There are three fabulous performances taking place in the beautiful surrounds of Milton Abbey, in North Dorset, this summer. What's more, all three performances are made up of choirs and choruses from the nearby town of Bournemouth.
The stunning surrounds and amazing acoustics inside Milton Abbey have attracted three different choirs from the seaside town.
Bournemouth Male Voice Choir
At 7.30pm on 16thJune the 60 strong Bournemouth Male Voice Choir has lined up an exciting and varied performance including a small commemorative section relating to the first world war together with music by contemporary composers from the USA and also some late 20th Century and 21st Century music by Rhosyphane Powell, Eric Whitacre, Morten Lauridsen, Timothy Takach, Goff Richards, Alan Simmons, and Randall Stroope.

The Bournemouth Sinfonietta Choir
On Sunday 1st July at 6.00pm one of the most highly regarded choirs in the south west of England, the Bournemouth Sinfonietta Choir, will perform at Milton Abbey. In this special concert, the choir celebrates 1000 years of the life of Milton Abbey with music that spans this period, combining a number of choral favourites in a programme designed to make the most of the Abbey's wonderful acoustic
A complete performance of Parry'sSongs of Farewellmarks a local connection - Parry was born in Bournemouth.

Completing this trio of performers from Bournemouth is The Bournemouth Symphony Chorus in concert on Saturday 7th July at 7.00pm.
Performing TALLIS 40 PART MOTETSpem in alium nunquam habui
This is a programme of magnificent motets to include Gabrieli, Lotti, Striggio and others. Gavin Carr is the conductor.
For many years, the Choir sang almost exclusively in Bournemouth, but in 1979, it became the Bournemouth Symphony Chorus, working under the aegis of the Bournemouth Symphony Orchestra.
The Chorus has a membership of around 150 singers, and gives the majority of its concerts with the Bournemouth Symphony Orchestra. However, it has also performed regularly with other orchestras, and gives regular concerts independently, either a capella, with organ or small ensembles.
