WILTON CENTRE PRAISED FOR UNIQUE FACILITIES AND FIRST IMPRESSIONS

Teesside’s Wilton Centre has been praised for its unique facilities and excellent first impressions which help attract new occupiers.

In a survey of tenants, the rare combination of office, laboratory and pilot plant accommodation at Teesside’s premier science and business park, along with the prestige of the buildings on the 75 acre landscaped site, were most often mentioned as the reasons why organisations initially chose the Wilton Centre as their base.

Professor Martin Atkins, CEO of Green Lizard Technologies said: “There is no better place in the UK,” while Steve Colley, Director of IEX Consultants Ltd said: “We could not find facilities anywhere like it in the North East.”

Daren Smith, SABIC Site Director said: “The Wilton Centre is an ideal location for the Headquarters of SABIC UK Petrochemicals Limited.  The infrastructure, access and facilities within the Centre are superb and meet the diverse needs of our organisation very well, from our laboratories to our training facilities.”

Outstanding first impressions of the buildings and site were often mentioned as a key deciding factor in choosing the Wilton Centre.  Suhail Mitoubsi, General Manager, The Faraday Centre Ltd said: “Our building is so impressive and fits in well with what we need to continue providing high quality training service to all our customers.”  Steve Guest, UK Managing Director of Techconsult, said: “The Wilton Centre makes a fabulous first impression on our clients which is very important for our business.”

Some tenants commented that their first visit was enough to convince them that the Wilton Centre was the right location for their business.  Kevin Morten, Northern Regional Manager for Hydro-X Water and Air Treatment said: “When I was asked to find a permanent base for our North East office, after viewing the Wilton Centre, there was only one option for us.”  Rob Lynas, Managing Director of Lynas Engineers, said: “To be honest after I attended a couple of events there, I did not look anywhere else.”

Steve Duffield, Site Director at the Wilton Centre is delighted by the positive feedback from his occupiers.  He says: “We have been very successful in attracting new tenants to the Wilton Centre over the past 12 months, so we wanted to understand both from our new and long-standing occupiers what it was that first attracted them here, and we were very pleased with the findings.

“It is what we have always believed; the quality of our site and our flexible accommodation is very hard to beat, but we are very happy to have this confirmed by our tenants.”

Stephen Brown, Senior Partner at Dodds Brown is the letting agent for the office space at the Wilton Centre.  He says: “The Wilton Centre has so many other positive attributes which were also mentioned by tenants.  It is in a great location next to the Wilton International site, has excellent road, rail, air and port links, and there is opportunity to work in close proximity with all sizes of similar organisations from multi-nationals to individual operators, as well as the presence of cluster and business development organisations, such as NEPIC and CPI.”

New occupiers at the Wilton Centre in the past 12 months include world leading developer and manufacturer of biologics-based medicines FUJIFILM Diosynth Biotechnologies, US biotech company Calysta, and local training provider The Faraday Training Group, while SABIC and the Centre for Process Innovation (CPI) re-committed to their present accommodation, taking long leases.

University technology spin out company Green Lizard chose Wilton Centre for its pilot plant, while fellow spin out Micropore Technologies committed to the Wilton Centre for a further 10 years.
