DRIVE LAUNCHES NEW LIGHTWEIGHT AUTO FOLDING SCOOTER

Feedback from customers and users plays an essential role in R&D and product selection for Drive DeVilbiss Healthcare. With customers expressing a clear requirement for a folding four wheel scooter, DDH wasted no time in sourcing a compact auto-folding option designed around a stable four wheel base which is lightweight, sturdy and practical.

Providing an impressive thirteen mile range on a full battery charge with a top speed of 4mph, the new autofolding scooter offers a quick and easy transport solution for a wide range of journeys, from simple car and bus trips through to holiday flights and even cruises. This lightweight folding scooter weighs in at just 27.5kg, with a generous safe maximum user weight of 125kg (19.7st).

The folding mechanism can be activated either remotely or via a button on the tiller, with the entire folding process taking just 12 seconds. Unlike many portable scooters, this model does not require splitting into sections to transport and store. Its compact design means it fits easily into small car boot spaces, with an ergonomic lift and carry handle making the process simple and comfortable, requiring no ramps or hoists.

Drive customers continue to emphasise the importance of ease of use for all products. This versatile folding scooter incorporates a digital LCD display usually seen on more expensive models, with a speedometer, battery gauge, odometer and driving time indication. The unit is powered by a lightweight and airline friendly lithium battery, with an easy access charging point and on board charging facility.

Safety features include an automatic electromagnetic brake system, rear anti-tip wheels and an anti-roll back system safety device which prevents the scooter from rolling backwards on  gradients and solid rubber puncture-proof tyres. The seat and backrest are generously padded for added comfort, and the tiller is height adjustable to match individual user requirements.

Commenting for Drive DeVilbiss Healthcare, Head of Product Management Alan Sullivan underlined the philosophy behind the company's operational ethos. "We are committed to supplying high quality products meeting real and identified market needs," he stated. "Listening carefully to our retail customers means we can do our utmost to match their requirements and ultimately that of their customers, the users of the products."
