Making the Apprenticeship Levy Work for You - Learn How at Talent in Logistics

Employers have seen the Apprenticeship Levy as a cost for a year now, and many have yet to realise any benefit from it.  At the Talent in Logistics Conference 2018, Managing Director of Bis Henderson Academy, David Lynch, will outline the value the Levy can bring to businesses and discuss how it can be used to boost skills.

“For companies paying into the Apprenticeship Levy who are not yet engaged in a training programme, now is the time to take action,” David explains. “The only way to see any value from this additional cost is to spend those funds on developing employees with a Registered Training Provider.”

“We are seeing a third of companies affected by the Levy who have tangible plans to spend their funds, a third who are thinking about it and another third who are not active at all on the issue,” explains David. “We work with a range of clients enabling them to maximise the value they can gain from their Apprenticeship Levy contributions – advising them on up-skilling their managers, first line team leaders, as well as warehouse operatives, supply chain professionals and customer service teams. We design and deliver programmes which enable our clients to get real benefit from this new tax, immediately.”

Bis Henderson Academy, who are Gold Sponsors of the Talent in Logistics Conference this year, provide training and upskilling programmes to develop the supply chain and logistics professionals of the future. The Group business has an established track record in the supply chain and logistics sector, with over 30 years of knowledge and expertise in the market. Bis Henderson Academy’s core service is based around bridging the growing skills gap and developing bespoke training solutions to meet clients’ training objectives, utilising their Apprenticeship Levy to fund the programmes.

“We want to educate as many businesses as possible that the Levy can be used positively as a ring-fenced budget for training and development that aims to drive business improvement,” adds David. “Talent in Logistics is the perfect platform for us to spread the word about the tangible benefits it can bring to businesses who are paying into the funds and not yet utilising them.”

The Talent in Logistics Conference and Awards takes place on Thursday 21st June 2018 at the Telford International Centre.
