Rapeseed oil producer marks 10 years in business with 10 competitions

 

A Thixendale based rapeseed oil producer is celebrating its tenth anniversary by launching the second of 10 competitions that will run throughout 2018.

 

To help the artisan oil producer to celebrate its special anniversary, the team at The Great Yorkshire Show, is offering a family ticket worth £75 to this year's landmark show.

 

The 160thGreat Yorkshire Show takes place fromTuesday July 10th to Thursday July 12th at Harrogate's Great Yorkshire Showground andYorkshire Rapeseed Oil's Facebook followers have until 25thMarch to be in with a chance of winning the prize for two adults and up to three children.

 

Yorkshire Rapeseed Oil's marketing manager, Jennie Palmer said that they are delighted to mark their anniversary year with a prize to visit one of the biggest agricultural shows in the UK.

 

"We think that our tenth anniversary is an amazing achievement, so goodness knows how the team at GYS feel to have put on 160 shows over 180 years! We're very grateful for their generosity and look forward to announcing the winner on 26thMarch."

 

Charles Mills, Show Director said: "The 160thshow promises to be bigger and better than ever, withequestrian dynamo, Lorenzo entertaining the crowd in the Main Ring with his daredevil bare-back display, Rosemary Shrager whipping up a storm in the cookery theatre and the President's Lawn showcasing some very special additions for the first time ever."

The three day Great Yorkshire Show attractsover 130,000 visitors and 8,500 animals and is one of the biggest agricultural shows in the UK.

 

Thefirst Great Yorkshire Show was held in 1838 at the Barrack Yard of the 5thDragoons at Fulford, near York and spent many years as a ‘roaming' show at venues throughout Yorkshire before moving to its current 200 acre site in 1951. 2012 marked the first ever show to be cancelled due to weather after unprecedented rainfall on the first day.

 

Yorkshire Rapeseed Oil was established in 2008 by Adam and Jennie Palmer on their farm in the heart of the Yorkshire Wolds. They now produce a range ofoils, dressings and mayonnaisebased on their award-winning rapeseed oil that is produced exclusively from home. Their Yorkshire Wolds grown rapeis pressed, blended, bottled and labelled on the family farm.
