New appointments strengthen Albion Water's experienced team
Water and waste water services provider Albion Water has strengthened its senior management team with the appointment of new managing director Luke de Vial.
The company, which enables developments by providing essential water services at a competitive price, has taken on the former Wessex Water employee who has worked in the water industry for more than 30 years.
Mr de Vial was one of the team involved in forming a joint venture between Albion Water and Wessex Water in October 2017.
He started as a hydrogeologist with Wessex Water where his career developed into water resources management, environmental strategy and more recently catchment management.
His long industry experience will provide added strength and expertise to an already highly experienced team at Albion Water.
Mr de Vial said: "I have joined Albion Water at an exciting time for the business. With the backing of Wessex Water, Albion is looking to grow its portfolio of housing developments and this year we're launching a new website and developing our offer.
"We understand the issues and constraints faced by developers and house builders and we're leading the industry in exploring new ways of providing water, waste water and environmental services in a flexible package that offers increased value."
Also joining the team as technical manager is Victoria Ashton. Miss Ashton, who has nearly 15 years' experience across the industry, has an MSc in water resources technology and management and is an active water industry professional with expertise in the areas of water resources planning, demand management, metering, water efficiency, conservation and optimisation. She will add valuable skills to the team at Albion Water.
Miss Ashton said: "I am looking forward to a new challenge at Albion Water and the opportunity to learn new skills. There is a promising and exciting future for us and competition in the water industry and I am looking forward to being a part of it."
When Albion Water was licensed by the Water Services Regulation Authority (Ofwat) in 1999, it was the first new entrant to compete against the monopoly water companies in England.
As well as providing water and waste water services to housing developers and builders it offers environmentally focused services that can enhance developments, making them attractive places to live or work.
Albion Water has worked with some of the UK's largest housing developers, including Berkeley Homes, Bovis Homes and Countryside Properties, and has experience in providing solutions quickly and efficiently while tackling issues that monopoly water companies may not be able to address.
