The Stafford-based
chartered certified accountancy firm Howards has announced that several members of its staff have passed their ACCA exams and are well on their way to becoming qualified accountants.

ACCA says it is the world's most forward-thinking professional accountancy body and its members are "strategic thinkers with high ethical integrity, strong financial know-how and the right business acumen".

Operating to the highest standards has always been core to Howards' continued success and so the company was delighted that seven staff passed their ACCA exams in the same month. They were Rachael Wilson, Jenna Hands, Richard Crump, Rachel Sawbridge, Oliver Woodward, Sophie May and Ritu Bhagotra, who passed her final exam and is now qualified.

Described as "a leading qualification for a changing world", ACCA has recently been redesigned to ensure the qualification is as relevant as possible and ACCA professionals continue to be the most valued and sought-after in the sector.

The latest changes include a new Ethics and Professional Skills module which is available from 31 October and is intended to increase a student's employability. There is also a new Strategic Business Leader module that requires students to use their technical, professional and ethical skills in real-world scenarios.

Howards' Managing Director Matt Bailey says: "The ACCA qualification gives accountancy practitioners the most up-to-date skills they need to become finance professionals and we are delighted to announce that so many of our staff are now on their way to becoming fully qualified. Strengthening our skills base will benefit our customers and enable us to provide the best accountancy services in the region."

Howards recently announced record growth in its most successful year to date, putting its success down to building strong relationships with clients - whether international PLCs, established small to medium enterprises (SMEs) or start-up sole traders.
