North Yorkshire couple celebrates farm business shortlist success

 

The husband and wife team behind Thixendale business, Yorkshire Rapeseed Oil are celebrating after being shortlisted in two categories of the British Farming Awards.

 

Adam Palmer has reached the final of the Diversification Innovator of the Year - Large and the Palmer family, including Adam's wife, Jennie; father, Ben and children, Charlie and Ivy, are finalists in the Family Farming Business of the Year.

 

Organised by Briefing Media Agriculture, parent company to Farmers Guardian, Arable FarmingandDairy Farmer, the British Farming Awards recognise the hard work, innovation and determination of farming, the awards showcase the achievements of farmers working within the UK agricultural industry.

Delighted with the news, Adam, who started Yorkshire Rapeseed Oil nine years ago with his wife, Jennie said: "We're very proud to be shortlisted in these prestigious awards. It's a credit to our small, hard-working team that our farming and business activity have been acknowledged with a place in the final."

The fifth British Farming Awards will be held in the Britannia Suite at The National Conference Centre, Birmingham. 19thOct and Adam and Jennie will be among the 600 guests who will enjoy an evening of fine food and entertainment.

 

Yorkshire Rapeseed Oil was established in 2008 by Adam and Jennie on their family farm in the heart of the Yorkshire Wolds.  They now produce a range of oils, dressing and mayonnaise based on their award winning rapeseed oil that is produced exclusively from home and Yorkshire Wolds grown rape and pressed, blended, bottled and labelled on the family farm. 

 

The oil is used in Michelin starred kitchens, including the Pipe and Glass at South Dalton, and all products are preservative, GM and gluten free and are suitable for vegetarians.

 

Yorkshire Rapeseed Oil products are also available at farmers' markets, farm shops, delis and independent retailers throughout Yorkshire.
