For Immediate Release, London May 3rd 2017The Home Declutter Kitis an inspiring new concept in decluttering. It's a hands-on, practical tool kit for a job that many people will do anything to avoid, whether it is creating calm from general clutter, dealing with life-changing events like downsizing, divorce or bereavement or coping with keeping the home tidy while bringing up small children.
Whether you are just disorganised or there are deeper issues at play, clutter impacts on the functionality of our homes and our lives, and unhelpful emotional attachments to things that we no longer really need can hold us back. The Home Declutter Kit takes you on a practical and emotional journey that helps you clear the clutter that can be preventing you from creating a home that feels welcoming to you and leading the life you really want.
The Home Declutter Kit comes in an elegant storage box containing sets of beautifully illustrated cards and a book that will guide you through all aspects of decluttering. The cards are categorised by task and organised into colour-coded sets that can be used alone or in combination.
There's a basic core set of cards which help you get started, then additional sets that tell you what to do with, for example, your winter clothes, or if you have many items that hold precious memories but are taking up a lot of space. Helen suggests making a memory box or creating a collage, rather than keep boxes of stuff you never look at. The everyday set of cards will also help you maintain order in your home once you've finished the big declutter.
Other cards help you with anything from packing and storing summer holiday essentials to dealing with sensitive and often very difficult tasks. These include sorting through loved one's possessions after bereavement, dealing with paraphernalia from the end of a relationship, or tackling paperwork that's challenging and unpleasant to deal with.
The kit was created by Helen Sanderson, top decluttering expert and Interior Designer. Helen created the Home Declutter Kit because she knows from many years of working closely with people to declutter that it's often about so much more than just the things. All in all this box will guide you gently through the process of clearing out and help you set achievable goals for decluttering your life.
With a background in psychotherapy Helen understands why people let clutter grow like weeds around them, especially if they are stressed or depressed. She knows from experience that getting to the root of decluttering is often the critical first step in making bigger life changes.
Helen understands that for some people letting go of physical possessions, even when they have outgrown their usefulness or beauty can be mentally very challenging. Decluttering is not a one-size fits all prescriptive process, so this kit gives you a variety of tools and different options that allow you to declutter at a pace you feel comfortable with.
"I created the Home Declutter Kit because I know that people are often overwhelmed by clutter and that dealing with it can bring up lots of emotional issues that they don't know how to face. It offers people a practical tool to tackle these problems alone or with a friend. I have often seen a close connection between people suffering with depression and the paralysis of clutter. Getting people into the action of decluttering can be cathartic and form part of a healing process, helping people move on in areas where they are stuck and making space for a happier life. When people get into the swing of letting go it gives them a massive amount of energy", says Helen.
The beautifully designed and illustrated Home Declutter Kit takes a refreshing and realistic approach to decluttering using simple but effective techniques. It not only gives you practical tools and advice on what to do, but also on a deeper level cleverly breaks down subconscious blocks and resistance to what can be an overwhelming task for many.
"Unlike most of the declutter books out there, the Home Declutter Kit is all about getting off the sofa and doing it! It's a practical, hands-on system that's about letting go of what's holding you back and creating an organised, stress-free environment, giving you the freedom to think clearly and enjoy your home and your life", says Helen.
